In 1727 the Duke of Medinaceli authorized the Capuchin Sisters to build this baroque convent. Converted only a decade ago into a romantic and comfortable hotel, where modernity and nostalgia exist side by side, 2000 celebrates 273 years of its existence. In its cloister the traveller will find a world of evocations and peacefulness. The 18th century Monastery was inaugurated as a hotel in 1989, situated in the centre of the town of el Puerto de Santa Maria. This charming small hotel has 150 rooms, all with the modern facilities of a grand hotel. All of them feature full-equipped bathroom, individually controlled air conditioning, cable TV, mini-bar, safe deposit box. Inside the cloisters of this emblematic Monastery, we find tropical gardens, almost a small "botanic", the impeccable swimming pool, well served by Las Capuchinas Cafeteria, and the solarium, that for good reason is called the Mirador of The Bay.
