The Rock Hotel is an institution in Gibraltar. It was built in 1932 by the Marquis of Bute and it still offers standards of service and guest care from that bygone, more genteel era. Recently refurbished in the colonial style, the Rock now offers 104 luxurious rooms and suites enjoying panoramic views across the Bay of Gibraltar, the Spanish mainland and the Rif Mountains of Morocco. All guestrooms come with mini-bars, bathrobes, welcome decanters of scotch and sherry, hairdryers, trouser-presses, fully remote controlled air-conditioning, satellite TV and facilities to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee when you want one. Our suites even have CD players. We also have a number of non-smoking bedrooms and two excellent rooms with facilities for the disabled. English style afternoon teas and drinks are served in the lounges unfailingly each day. The Wisteria covered terrace really is the place to be on a summer's evening, enjoying drinks, snacks and light meals and tapas. It is an ideal place to hold wedding celebrations and there are weekly barbecues during the summer months. The restaurant is renowned locally for its standard of cuisine. Fresh, locally caught fish are a speciality. The wine list is well considered with an eclectic choice of wines and some excellent new wave wines from Spain. The Barbary Bar offers along with a fully stocked international bar, a food menu from steak pies and tapas to tajines. The seawater pool sits in its own secluded garden away from the hustle and bustle. There is a fully stocked bar and food is served all day from an interesting and varied menu. The service is efficient and courteous from members of our team who have been with us for much of their working lives. Our conference rooms are fully air-conditioned and equipped with everything a conference organiser or speaker could desire.
