The structure of the Parador is over a half a mile long, on top of a hill overlooking the city and valley, a sight truly imposing. It can be seen from practically anywhere in the surroundings. The building is not as old as it looks or would seam natural to expect in a castle type Parador. This castle was built in the sixties using the site of an ancient historic fortress. They resembled every bit of detail. The castle is all made of solid rock, with several beautiful salons where ceilings are thirty feet high or more. The main restaurant of the Castle is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful dining rooms to be found, a perfect banquet setting, used every day for lunch and dinner. And the kitchen's fine cooking is also matching to the high standard of this dining room. The rooms are pretty basic, rather rustic in their decor, in keeping with the castle atmosphere, considering that in those days, except for the patron's quarters, rooms were rather simple. In this Parador, better known as the Castillo de Santa Catalina, all rooms are exactly alike, they do not have suites. Except for the four doubles in the towers of the castle, all rooms have a nice balcony with a sitting area to enjoy the wonderful country view. The hotel offers 45 rooms with air conditioning, hairdryer, heating, mini bar, satellite TV, telephone.
