The great house of the Marquises of "La Quinta Roja", nowadays the hotel of the same name, is one of the finest examples of the architecture of the island's Baroque period. It is located in Garachico, a beautiful village with small historic squares in the north of Tenerife, about 60 km from the capital.
The original building date back to the 16th century and was the refuge of the Sisters of the Order of the Immaculate Conception during the first half of the 18th century. It wasn't affected at all by the volcanic eruption in 1706 and today is a charming residence with its own personality, which is reflected in its many beautiful corners.
The rooms of the Quinta Roja retain the spirit of past times in the original walls and wooden beams of the ceilings, while providing a unique point of view from which to understand the town's natural way of living. Comfortable and warmly appointed they all feature modern facilities such as air-conditioning, heating, direct dial telephone, television, hi-fi stereo, piped music, hairdryer, housecoat, CD player and Internet connection.
The surrounding villages and beaches offer outstanding views and great opportunities to relax, entertain and know the interesting local culture. Forests, mountains, and interesting geological formations await for you to explore and feel the magic of this unique landscape. This enchanting area along with the hotel's excellent service will make your stay a most relaxing holiday or an unforgettable adventure - the choice is always yours. Additional conveniences offered to guests include a coffee bar, a little spa (sauna, Jacuzzi and solarium), computer with Internet access, big car park (nearby), and 2 rooms for the disabled. Pets aren't allowed in the hotel.
